If I Were Dr. Bill Dorfman: How I'd Wake Up a Celebrity Dentist's YouTube Channel

Dr. Dorfman, about two million people follow you on Instagram. Your YouTube channel's last upload was in November 2023, and most of it is clips from TV shows. You have two audiences who would binge your videos: patients who want a perfect smile, and dentists who want to learn from you. Here's how I'd wake the channel up.

If you're not Dr. Dorfman, but you run a dental practice with a strong Instagram, this plan is for you too.

What does Dr. Dorfman's YouTube look like today?

Here's what I found on October 13, 2026.

PlatformNow
Instagramabout 2,000,000 followers
YouTubeabout 7,700 subscribers, 186 videos
Last uploadNovember 2023, an office tour with about 860 views
What's thereclips from TV appearances (about 700–1,900 views), patient testimonials (about 100–170)
PracticeCentury City Aesthetic Dentistry, Los Angeles

The TV clips were made for TV audiences. On YouTube they're out of context: short, edited by someone else and not answering what a patient searches.

Why should a famous dentist bother with YouTube?

Because patients spending thousands on veneers research for weeks. They search "veneers cost", "veneers pros and cons", "how long do veneers last". The answer comes from whoever made the best video, often a dentist much less known than Dr. Dorfman.

Our orthodontist client is a good example. Not a celebrity. A dentist in his clinic explaining which crowns to choose. That one video got about 9,000 views and kept growing for a year. One patient who came from his YouTube paid for half a year of production.

The latest long videos on our orthodontist client's YouTube channel: which crowns to choose, which toothpastes not to buy, the most complex dental cases, how to choose a dentist, which veneers to choose, how dentists scam patients on implants, from 1K to 9.3K views

Here's who answers those questions on YouTube today. On October 14, 2026, the top videos for veneer questions: How do veneers work and how much do they cost? on Top Doctors UK (about 994,000 views), Dr. Nathan Coughlin's Before you get Dental Veneers Watch This! (about 705,000) and Teeth Talk Girl's Dental Veneers vs. Crowns (about 702,000). Dr. Dorfman's most-watched videos are TV clips with about 7,000 to 15,000 views.

The patients' questions go to other dentists (October 14, 2026)

Fame on Instagram makes people curious. YouTube turns curiosity into a consultation.

Who are the two audiences?

Patients. People considering cosmetic work: veneers, whitening, smile makeovers. They want plain-language answers and real results.

Dentists. Dr. Dorfman has spoken to dentists for years. Dentists want to see how a top cosmetic dentist plans a case, talks to patients and runs a practice. This audience is smaller, but very valuable: courses, speaking, partnerships.

One channel can serve both, with separate playlists. Or two channels later, if the dentist side grows.

What content would I make for Dr. Dorfman?

Five content pillars.

  1. Patient questions. Cost, process, longevity, alternatives. One question per video.
  2. Smile makeovers, start to finish. A real case with consent: first visit, plan, preparation, result. This is the binge format.
  3. Myths and mistakes. "Things I wish patients knew before veneers", "Whitening myths". Educational, without naming other practices.
  4. For dentists. Case planning, patient communication, building a cosmetic practice.
  5. Leadership and life. His work with young leaders through the LEAP Foundation. The human side of the brand.

Which five videos would I test first?

Each idea has a reference that already proved it. View counts are from October 14, 2026.

1. "How Much Do Veneers Cost in Los Angeles?"

Advanced Dental Artistry's The Cost of Veneers - Why are some cheap and others expensive? has about 62,000 views, and Sure Dental's How Much Does Dental Veneers Cost? about 31,000. Small practices, plain titles, steady views. A famous LA dentist answering the same question has a head start.

2. "A Full Smile Makeover, From First Visit to Final Result"

Dr. Mauricio Soto's Composite Veneers Step by Step: Full Smile Transformation has about 186,000 views, and a patient's I Got 22 Crowns & 6 Veneers in Thailand about 65,000. The binge format: one case, start to finish. Dr. Dorfman already did this on TV with Extreme Makeover.

3. "Veneers vs Whitening: What You Actually Need"

Comparison videos work because the patient already has two options in mind. Dr. Nathan Coughlin's Dental Veneers vs Crowns - Which is best? has about 144,000 views, and Atlanta Dental Spa's Can You Whiten Veneers? about 50,000. Whitening is the cheaper option many patients ask about first.

4. "How I Plan a Cosmetic Case (For Dentists)"

The dentist audience watches long, technical videos. Two Dentists' Treatment Planning Made Easy! has about 60,000 views, and Dr. S M Faizan's Case Discussion 9 - Fixing a Smile Makeover about 30,000. Smaller numbers, but every viewer is a dentist: a future course buyer or event guest.

5. "Things I Wish Patients Knew Before Getting Veneers"

Smile with Dr. B's VENEERS: Composite vs. Porcelain - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW has about 541,000 views, and Miki Rai's Everything to know about veneers about 135,000. "What you need to know before" is one of the strongest formats in the niche.

Which channel fixes take one day?

  • TV clips go into one playlist: "As seen on TV". Don't delete them, just stop leading with them.
  • First line of the channel description: "Book a consultation" with the link.
  • A new banner and trailer: what the channel is for now. Here's how to make a channel trailer.
  • Playlists for each pillar, including one for dentists.

The full checklist: YouTube channel optimization.

What would the funnel look like?

Patient video → smile makeover case → consultation. Dentist video → course, event or partnership inquiry. Each audience has its own door, and each video has one link that fits its audience.

What's the 12-month roadmap?

  • Months 1–3: one filming day a month in the practice: four long videos plus Shorts. Patient pillar first.
  • Months 4–6: add the dentist pillar once a month.
  • Months 7–12: a cornerstone "Everything about veneers" video and a masterclass for dentists.

What happens next?

Dr. Dorfman, if this is useful, the plan is yours. And for any dental practice: our free content plan for dental clinics has 18 long videos and 40 Shorts ready to film. I also wrote a strategy for another famous cosmetic dentist, Dr. Michael Apa.

FAQ

Does Dr. Bill Dorfman have a YouTube channel?

Yes. In October 2026 it had about 7,700 subscribers and 186 videos, mostly clips from TV appearances and patient testimonials. The last upload was an office tour in November 2023. His Instagram has about 2 million followers.

Why should a famous dentist bother with YouTube?

Because patients spending thousands on cosmetic work research for weeks. They search costs, pros and cons and how long results last, and the answer comes from whoever made the best video, often a much less famous dentist.

What is dental social media marketing?

Using social platforms to attract and convert patients: short clips for reach on Instagram and TikTok, and long videos on YouTube that answer patient questions and build trust before a consultation.

Do TV clips work on YouTube?

Rarely on their own. TV clips are short, edited for another audience and don't answer what patients search. Keep them as an "As seen on TV" playlist for credibility, but lead with videos made for YouTube.

Can a dentist's YouTube channel serve both patients and dentists?

Yes, with separate playlists and calls to action: consultations for patients, courses, events or partnerships for dentists. If the dentist side grows, it can become a second channel later.

Is it worth restarting a dormant YouTube channel?

Yes. Old subscribers, watch history and existing videos give a head start compared with a new channel. Clean up the channel first: banner, description, playlists, then publish consistently.

What should a cosmetic dentist post on YouTube?

Answers to patient questions, full smile makeovers with consent, myths and mistakes, and how the dentist plans cases. One question per video, in plain language.

How often should a dental practice post on YouTube?

Four long videos a month is a strong pace, and one filming day in the practice is enough to make them. Shorts cut from each long video keep the channel active between uploads.

Is there a free content plan for dental clinics?

Yes. Evgeny Maximov's team shares a free content plan for dental clinics with 18 long videos and 40 Shorts, including the questions to ask the dentist on camera.

Did Dr. Bill Dorfman hire Evgeny Maximov's agency?

No. This is an open strategy built from public information. If you run a dental practice with a strong Instagram and a quiet YouTube, you can book a call for a plan like this.
