Make Extra $500k In 6 Months Using YouTube Videos [Full breakdown]

How to Attract Investments and Grow Your Business with YouTube Videos

You don’t need millions of views to earn millions of dollars. Yeah, it sounds weird, but it’s true. Just several YouTube videos that I’ve created for my client’s, self-storage business Tvoy Sklad, helped them raise more than half a million dollars in six months
This article is a detailed case study with exact steps that you can just steal, copy-paste, and implement in your business and grow much faster.

This method works for any business to:

  • find new leads and warm them up before purchasing,
  • find new investors,
  • find new franchise partners to expand your business.

You will get huge results on autopilot saving your time and time of your team.

Prepare Your Business

Before creating any videos, you need to collect the data about your business. And understand goals of these videos.

Speaking about attracting investments, you probably have a PDF pitch deck that you send to investors. It’s time to create a video version of it which lasts ~5 minutes. That’s enough for a start.

Important note: You need to understand that this only one short video is not a silver bullet. It’s part of your funnel that you create.

You still need to find investors.

You still need to probably run ads to promote your investment opportunity.

You still need to speak with potential investors.

You still need to have Zoom calls showing the same pitch deck.

You still need to participate in various events.

Don’t think that one five-minute video will fix all the problems.

So this content funnel will look like this:

Investors Journey Map

Pre-Production

Pitch structure is pretty standard.

Use this structure as a reference:

  • The idea / mission of the company.
  • The problem you are solving.
  • The size of the market.
  • How you solve the problem.
  • Traction – what have you achieved so far? Revenue/profit, number of customers and other important metrics.
  • The team and its experience.
  • Investment Proposal.
  • Call to Action (CTA).

But it’s a conditional structure – it depends on your niche and size of your business. Some information will be irrelevant. Something will be easier to explain in a much longer pitch.

Just copying-pasting from your slides won’t work here. It’s better to write the script with someone else (like your CMO or a filmmaker) because you can think that this information is important, but it’s not.

Script is the foundation of your video. And if you pour water in it, you won’t show the most important pieces of your business. And will lose an interest of a viewer.

For 5 minute video you need to write 500-600 words.

Before filming you need to know the call-to-action and further action of the viewer. On Russian market Telegram is a go-to messenger and we send traffic to a special chat-bot with bunch of automations. But you can use simple landing pages with opt-in forms.

In the video itself we show QR-code to scan and duplicate link in the description of all videos that we published.

Production and Post-Production

We wrote a script. It’s time to film the video. Find a filmmaker who will shoot a good-looking video. Don’t need to spend a lot of money on it. You have no need to shoot movie-quality video. Check this pitch and use it as an example

We spent several hours recording this video.

Next stop is editing the footage and preparing video for publishing on YouTube

Here’s how final video looked in Final Cut Pro.

Several Important Tips

  • No information overload. You can’t put everything in a five-minute pitch. The purpose of this video is to drive interest, to learn more about the company, to watch other videos, to dive deeper into the project. It’s not about saying everything about your company in five minutes only. It’s impossible.

  • Duplicate key thoughts and figures on the screen. If you have a lot of numbers like $22 million, $15 billion. It’s hard to understand only listening these numbers. On a screenshot above you can see small purple blocks. They are duplicating thoughts and numbers that founder says. Show titles every 5, 10, 15 seconds – it will be much better viewer experience.

  • Create a light version of your slides for this video. Usually, your PDF deck has a lot of graphic or subtitles. You don’t need to show this in your video. When you show this slide for 2 seconds, all these details are not readable. So that’s why you need to make it simple and clear. Keep this in mind while working with a video editor.

  • Implement multiple call to actions. I’m not speaking about “subscribe on the channel, invest in our company, become a partner, hit a like”. Don’t use all available CTAs’ at the same time. Use only one call to action, but place it in various forms and even social platforms. Put a link in the description of your video, description of your socials, show a QR code in video, pin a comment with link below a video. Update all previous videos and replace this first link and put new call to action. Keep in mind a customer journey – make it so easy so person will click on the link as soon as possible.

  • Implement this video in your sales process. Yeah, sounds obvious but most of the times team members forget about using assets you create. You can handle more clients, warm them up on autopilot with no overload. You have created digital copy that sells for you. So your final action is to implement it in business processes.

Scaling Content Funnels

This funnel worked so well so we have created a second funnel that attracts new franchise partners to expand the business across the country. We published slightly different pitch with new CTA and recorded bunch of videos to warm up new partners:

Founder not only automated sales process and increased brand awareness. He also saved more than 4.000 work hours (that’s 166 full days!) because he has created a digital version that sells for him.
