# An Italian Fluency Coach Who Records in One Morning: What We Made and What We Can Show

Elisabetta Maccani has a six-month Italian coaching program and a channel she kept stopping. We took everything except recording off her plate. Today we continue helping her turn client testimonials into videos and Shorts.

**Key takeaways**

**Short answer:** Elisabetta Maccani, an Italian fluency coach, hired us to take everything except recording off her plate. We made a **video sales letter** for her six-month program, short-form videos and clip ideas from Italian films. She records in **one morning**. I don't have sales numbers for this project, and I'll show you what I do have.

- Her problem was not ideas. She did every step of every video alone.
- Nobody on our team speaks Italian. A native speaker checks the final choice.
- Good enough audio beat perfect audio that never got recorded.
- We continue producing client testimonials and cutting Shorts from them.

Before

Strong expertise, a channel she wanted to return to. Every step was on her.

What we did

A video sales letter, Shorts, clip ideas from Italian films, editing and publishing.

Result

She records in **one morning**. Her verdict: **“I would highly recommend”** it. No sales numbers yet.

## Who is Elisabetta, and what did she need?

[Elisabetta Maccani](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYU2KP-RPizMZ2U5SD098Yw) is an Italian fluency coach. Her students are American intermediate learners. They already studied Italian and they are stuck on the plateau: they understand, but they struggle to speak. She sells a six-month coaching program for them.

She has a YouTube channel, the passion and the expertise. What she didn't have was time. When we started, one video meant every job at once: ideas, script, recording, editing, thumbnail, description, keywords, publishing.

I told her story in her own words in [why experts stop posting](https://evgenymaximov.com/blog/youtube-consistency-done-for-you/). This page is different. It is the case file: what was in the project, how it worked, and where the evidence stops.

## What was in the way?

Two things, and she names both.

The first is clarity about her student. She says it herself.

>

“I started a YouTube channel many years ago. It didn't really work probably because I didn't have clear in my mind who was the ideal client for myself.”

Elisabetta Maccani

The second is the workload. Why video at all? In her view, text doesn't show who you are, and in a video people see your energy and how you speak. She knew it works. She had been thinking about going back to YouTube for a long time, but it takes too many things at once.

>

“It's a hard process because you have to do many things. And it's time consuming.”

**The video sales letter.** A [VSL](https://evgenymaximov.com/blog/vsl-funnel/) goes on a landing page with the description of her program and a “buy” button. The video does the explaining, so the page can sell on its own. It takes under a week from script to a working page, which is why I like it as a first project for a coach.

**Short-form videos.** One format she had seen other creators make and enjoyed: short videos built on famous moments from Italian movies. She never tried it alone.

>

“It was nice to have somebody who told me you might do this. Why don't we try that? ... Thanks to your team, I tried to do it. Otherwise, maybe I would not have done it.”

Elisabetta Maccani

This is something I see a lot. Experts watch other creators, think “that would be awesome”, and never start. A team gives the push.

## Can a team edit in a language it doesn't speak?

Nobody on our team speaks Italian. That was a real risk, and I want to be exact about how we handled it.

For the movie format we sent Elisabetta about ten clip options from well-known films. Some she could not use. The actors spoke a dialect, or a type of Italian that isn't standard. We couldn't hear that. She could, and she says it was an “aha moment”.

>

“I realized that I need somebody who speaks Italian.”

Elisabetta Maccani

![Google Doc titled Italian Moments with a list of nine movie clip options, from The Godfather to La Dolce Vita, some highlighted](https://evgenymaximov.com/img/elisabetta-clip-ideas.webp)The clip options we prepared. Elisabetta picked the ones with standard Italian

She also told us, kindly, that this is the one concern. We still did a good job, she said, and the editor on her project has a translator background. He knows Spanish and Portuguese, and it made the Italian much easier. Our rule for any language-heavy niche now: **the team builds, the native speaker checks the final choice**, and you ask about the editor's languages before you sign.

## What happened at the recording?

Elisabetta hadn't recorded for a long time. She didn't remember how to use her camera, and her first sample had a weird noise in the audio. She nearly stopped there. We told her: don't worry, just do it.

>

“I just regret not having done it with a different microphone... But at least I have the videos.”

Elisabetta Maccani

Is the audio studio quality? No. Next time she will use a better microphone, and I'd tell any coach to do the same: [sound matters more than picture, and a wireless mic for about $120 is where I'd start](https://evgenymaximov.com/blog/youtube-filming-setups/). But a good-enough video that exists beats a perfect video in your head.

## What did she say about working with a team?

She compared it with doing it alone, and these were her answers. On speed: “It was very fast, I would say.” On quality, she said both the short-form videos and the sales letter were high quality. On doing it alone:

>

“If you handle everything, you really make content creation possible. Otherwise it takes too much time, too much effort, and thinking about too many details, like what to put, how to optimize for the algorithm, the description, keywords.”

Elisabetta Maccani

And on the role we gave her:

>

“You just have to record and you plan just that day to record that morning. That's it. You give everything to the team. They handle it, which is amazing. So it's a very nice service to have. And I would highly recommend to do that.”

Elisabetta Maccani

One more moment I liked. She thought publishing would be the hardest part, with the keywords and everything. It isn't on her, we do it. And she had already tried one of the clips on LinkedIn that day, just to see how people react.

## How do we continue working together?

Elisabetta decided not to continue the wider content service. We still work together on her client testimonials.

She records conversations with her clients on Zoom. We edit the recordings and prepare the full videos for publication: thumbnails, titles, descriptions and search optimization.

From each testimonial, we cut several Shorts and publish them. Elisabetta also takes those clips to share on her own social channels. One client conversation gives her a full testimonial and several short videos to use across her platforms.

## What can we say about results?

Her channel's overall subscriber count does not show the impact of our work, so we do not use it as a result of this project.

Views show demand, not how many clients a video brought. That's why a video sales letter was a good first project: it speaks to the people who already want the program, so it doesn't need a million views.

What I don't have: how many students her sales letter brought. The review was recorded soon after we delivered, so it is a review of the work and the process, not of sales. I'd rather say that than make a number up. If you want to see a result like this for your own program, add one question to your page and your calls: “How did you hear about me?”

## What can you copy from this case?

- Write down your one ideal student before you film. Everything gets easier after that.
- Start with one sales video for your main program, then cut short clips from it.
- Pick a format you enjoy watching. If you like it from other creators, you will enjoy making it.
- In a language niche, let the team build and a native speaker check the final cut.
- Record the imperfect version. Fix the microphone next time.
- Put the whole recording in one morning, and give the rest to someone else.

## FAQ

**What did you make for Elisabetta Maccani?**

A video sales letter for her six-month Italian coaching program, short-form videos, and clip ideas built on moments from famous Italian films. Our team also handled editing and publishing, so her part was recording.

**How long does she spend recording?**

One morning. In her words: “you plan just that day to record that morning. That's it. You give everything to the team.”

**Do you still work with Elisabetta?**

Yes. She decided not to continue the wider content service, but we still help produce her client testimonials. We edit Zoom recordings, create thumbnails, titles and descriptions, optimize them for search, and cut several Shorts from each testimonial. We publish the Shorts, and she also uses them on her own social channels.

**Did the video sales letter bring her students?**

We do not have sales numbers for it. The review was recorded right after delivery. This case shows the work and her experience of the process.

**Can a team edit videos in a language it doesn't speak?**

Yes, with checks. Nobody on our team speaks Italian. The editor on her project has a translator background and knows several languages, and Elisabetta chose the final clips herself. The team builds, the native speaker checks.

**What was wrong with the Italian clips from films?**

Some of the roughly ten options we sent used a dialect or non-standard Italian, and we couldn't hear it. Elisabetta could, and she picked only the clips that use standard Italian.

**Who is her ideal student?**

American intermediate learners: people who already studied Italian and are stuck at the plateau, where they understand but struggle to speak. She says it took her time to be clear about this.

**What was the audio problem?**

When she recorded a sample, the audio had a weird noise. She says she regrets not using a different microphone, but she recorded anyway, and she has the videos. A good-enough video that exists beats a perfect video in your head.

**Does she have to publish the videos herself?**

No. She thought publishing, with the descriptions and keywords, would be the hardest part, and our team does it. She tried one clip on LinkedIn the same day, just to see how people react.

**Would this work for other language teachers or coaches?**

The method does: pick one ideal student, build one sales video for the program, add short clips from that video, and let a native speaker check the content. Results depend on your audience, and we promise no views or students.

**How much does a project like this cost?**

Our channel management starts from $3,000 a month, and one-off projects start from $500.
